In case if you are wondering who is Phoenix O’ Neill, the first glance at her official website will tell you about her in brief. This is how her introduction begins –

A 23-year-old indie pop singer and songwriter based in Watford, North London, Phoenix began creating her own unique style in the year 2016 when she began producing her own material using GarageBand on her iPhone.

Ever since then, she has been performing in and around the Hertfordshire area, captivating audiences with her spellbinding vocals. Many have compared her to the likes of Amy Winehouse and Elle King, and haunting melodies not unlike Massive Attacks Mezzanine. Quite rightly so. Her vocals match exactly like that of Elle King. Besides, Phoenix unique style is based on her sharing stories from her life mingled with emotion. We see references to this in her songs.

In an interview, she had admitted that her song Cruel World talks about the low moments and the hard times that she had faced during her early teens. She also admits that being a musician gives her the ability to express herself just like an open diary.

That same year in 2016, Phoenix caught the interest of award-winning producer James Sanger. The two started working together and James helped Phoenix develop her unique sound and create an EP that will be set for release later this year.
