~ About The Band ~
Indo Gypsies is an Eight piece World Music Band, playing various genres of music ranging from New Age Music, Western Folk, Indian Folk, Fusion, African , Country, Instrumental etc. The band is an innovative lot of youths, immensely talented and dedicated to make wondrous melodies, symphonies and rhythmic styles weaving through their original compositions.
The Indo Gypsies have a very fresh sound with tantalizing vocals and creatively crafted music which awaken a wide range of emotions through all the age groups.
The punchy sound of the drums, the crazily and soothing guitars, the Indian touch of the tabla, the groovy rhythm of the darbuka, the completeness of the bass, the sweet drops of the keys, along with some heartfelt and strong vocals, make the Indo Gypsies into unique World Music Performers.

SAURABH SHETYE (Lead Vocals)
A very talented singer , having an extraordinary range in his heart capturing voice and sings all the genres of music with equal grace and proficiency. He has won many competitions at state and national level. He has recently sung a title song for a Marathi Film and has got nominated for an Award.
NAYAN KAWALE (Guitars)
He is the main binder of the band and has a brilliant sense of sound of the instrument. His playing techniques and speed is worth a ear. He too,is outstanding at all styles of guitaring. He is been learning his instrument from Sir Ramesh Iyer . He has played in many jingles, Bollywood songs, feature films. He also plays in a famous Metal band from Mumbai.
MAHANT PARIKH (Guitars)
The heart throb of the band, plays the rhythm guitar and is a soloist too. He too learns from Sir Ramesh Iyer, and has performed at inter-collegiate, and many other shows.
DURGESH KHOT (Keys)
A quiet guy , having a great sense of chord progressions and choice of tones as well as harmonies, which dress up a song completely. He is on the verge of being a trinity graduate in keys. Currently he is climbing the ladder with 4th grade under his belt. He also scores music for corporate and feature films.
SANCHIT MHATRE (Drums)
The youngest musician in the band, he is a mind-blowing drummer , with a gifted ability of playing various simple and complex rhythmic patterns with equal ease. He is the student of the maestro Taufiq Qureshi, and also plays with his band, The Mumbai Stamp. He has learnt under the godly guidance of Ustad Zakir Hussain . He also plays for many recordings and shows.
SUKRUT CHOWKIDAR (Tablas)
A very shy but innovative tablist , who represents India in the band . His sound of the tabla compliments the western styles of music , giving a rustic and a traditional feel to the Indo Gypsies sound . He has his own disciples and is a tabla visharad. He plays the tabla with the composer of “Mile Sur Mera Tumhara”, Ashok Patki.
AMEYA NAIK ( Darbuka and Mouth percussion )
A very creative percussionist with a wild and a freaky range of thoughts, which he instantly reproduces through his voice and
instruments, giving a completeness to the rhythm of the band. The most unique instrument in the band from the East – the Darbuka, is his forte, which gives the band a world sound. He is a music composer , arranger and a recordist at his own studio setup. He has composed music for several commercials, feature films and documentaries.
ROHAN CHAWATHE (Bassist)
A ridiculously talented bassist. He gives the groove and the completeness to the music of the band. The warmth and the heaviness of his bass drives many hearts crazy . He is a senior student of Sir Ramesh Iyer. He is a core bassist with Sunidhi Chauhan and Kunal Ganjawala.
