Brilliant Jerk is a brilliant mixture of the various instruments that are used in the music. Each of the instruments has been given its own space, which allows the song to breathe and the listener to stay focused on each and every part. You should particularly listen to how the drums have been treated — all skittering sixteenths on the hi-hats, including toms with depth and resonance, as well as the nice share of crispiness. The beat of the drums syncopate nicely with the playing of the guitar and has been brilliantly infused and arranged with the personality.

From a general listener’s (by which I mean one who is not inclined to any particular genre as such) perspective, the music is not one of those typical high-pitched rock music. It is indulged rather on the soft tone. They have that 70s metallic sound but are cut off at the end of phrases with a crispness and attention to detail that really elevates the song and accentuates its dynamics. In addition to this, the lead lines are indeed satisfying to listen to when the guitars stretch their legs, echoing the swagger of the lead vocal.

Speaking of the lead vocal, the vocal is full of swagger and confidence, which is coupled with a colorful arrangement of backing voices, mixed hard and right in an attempt to exploit the stereo.

The accompanying video is smart too and conveys the key message in a sardonic way. This leaves one to wonder — is it the admiration of the various extent of stupidity that we go through as human beings? Overall, the music is one brilliant piece that you should tune in to listen to.
